End processing of compression spring

The effect of grinding the end of the compression spring:

1. Provide a supporting plane to ensure the stability of the spring working position.

2. Reduce spring buckling.

Improve the perpendicularity of the end ring to the spring axis and the parallelism of both ends.

effectively reduces the free height and compression height of the spring, reducing the installation space of the spring.

Under normal conditions, the grinding angle of the compression spring is 270° or the grinding arc length is not less than 3/4 turn.

The thickness of the spring end after grinding should be between (0.25~0.3)d (material diameter).

The roughness of the end grinding is generally about 3.2

There are two types of spring end processing:

1. Manual grinding: generally dry grinding, it is manually or with the help of simple tooling, on the grinder by the operator’s experience to grind the spring.

2. Turning: Generally, simple tooling is used on a lathe, and a turning tool is used to turn the spring on the lathe

The end processing of the extension spring is generally after the spring is rolled, and the clamp platform is manually processed with simple tooling and special auxiliary tools.

The end processing of the torsion spring is generally formed by hand processing on the clamp platform with simple tooling and special auxiliary tools after the spring is rolled.
