Huawei announces multiple automotive patents
According to the data from Tianyan Check, on July 10, Huawei announced 50 patents, of which the earliest application date was December 2018, and the most recent application was March 2020. Future Auto Daily (ID: auto-time) found that there are three items that clearly involve the automotive field. They are respectively an automatic driving method and device, a driving circuit and charging and discharging method for an electric vehicle, and a vehicle thermal management system and method.
Among them, the autonomous driving patent was applied for on December 27, 2018, which is a technology that uses data to determine an autonomous driving strategy. At present, the automatic driving functions of mass-produced cars on the market require active selection by human drivers. According to the abstract of Huawei’s patent, it can be inferred that this automatic driving technology may be an automatic driving function that the system should select based on road conditions. Thereby reducing the work of manual judgment.
Prior to this, Huawei’s on-board computing platform and intelligent driving subsystem solutions have obtained the ISO 26262 functional safety management certification of TüV Rheinland Group. With this platform as the core, it has built a solution to support L4 autonomous driving capabilities, and launched Huawei’s autonomous driving cloud service.
Huawei’s “Autonomous Driving Network Solution White Paper” released during the Global Analyst Conference HAS 2020 put forward phased goals: within 3-5 years, the network will have the ability to perceive and analyze, and AI will fully assist people in decision-making; within 5-7 years, the network will achieve initial autonomy , To achieve network self-determination in certain network and business scenarios; within 7-10 years, the industry will jointly challenge the ultimate goal of self-decision-making and self-evolution in all network scenarios and life cycles.
At present, the automatic driving patent announced this time is to complete the first phase goal-to assist people in decision-making. In addition, there are two patents related to perception in the patents disclosed this time, namely: a method and device for searching a perception network structure, a method and device for position perception, and a method and device for positioning.
The remaining two automotive patents are related to the battery management of electric vehicles. The first item is used for the drive circuit and charging and discharging method of electric vehicles or solves the problems of high and low voltage conversion and charging in electric vehicles. The second item is a vehicle thermal management system and method used to realize the powertrain and battery pack separately Independent heat dissipation to achieve the most energy-saving conditions.
It is worth noting that there is also a voice interaction method, device and system in this patent application, which can identify multiple sound sources and has the ability to continuously talk. Previously, Huawei’s rotating director Xu Zhijun revealed in an interview with Future Auto Daily that Huawei Auto BU is studying the in-car voice interaction function, and this patent may have the opportunity to be used in Huawei’s in-vehicle system.
The announcement of Huawei’s patent may mean that its layout in the automotive field will speed up again, and mass production of various patented technologies is coming soon.
