Although the spring is widely used, it is basically nonstandard in terms of variety and specification. It is designed according to different main engine products, and its interchangeability is poor. Therefore, for a long time, there is no corresponding technical committee on spring standardization in the international organization for standardization, and the work of spring standardization is limited. In recent years, due to the development of spring technology and the requirements of industrial technology development, the international standard work around spring has been strengthened. Jointly initiated by China, Japan and other countries, the international spring Standardization Technical Committee (ISO / TC 227) was established in 2005. The chair is Germany and the Secretariat is in Japan. There are currently 11 full member states. There are two international standard proposals under review, spring terminology and spring shot peening, both of which were proposed by Japan.
Before the establishment of international spring Standardization Technical Committee, ISO / TC 10 formulated technical documents related to spring
ISO 2162 production technical document – spring, including three parts:
ISO 2162.1 Part 1: drawing of springs
ISO 2162.2 Part 2: data required for cylindrical helical compression springs
ISO 2162.3 Part 3: Spring terminology
According to the international standard ISO 2162.1, GB / t4459.4 “mechanical drawing and drawing” is formulated in China.
The application of compression spring with rectangular section for die and mould is becoming more and more widely. In order to meet the requirements of interchangeability, ISO / DIS 10243 “installation dimensions and color marks of rectangular section compression spring for die and mould” was formulated by ISO / DIS 10243. According to this standard, JB / T 6653 “cylindrical helical compression spring with flat steel wire” has been formulated in China.
In June 2007, the Secretariat of China’s National Spring Technical Standardization Committee proposed to the international spring Standardization Committee (ISO / TC 227) an international standard proposal on the design, technical requirements and test methods of hot rolled cylindrical spring compression spring and automobile leaf spring. On October 29, 2007, 12 member states of the third session (ISO / TC 227) held in Beijing, unanimously approved the international standard proposal for technical conditions of hot coil cylindrical spiral compression spring delivered by the Secretariat of Spring Technology Standardization Committee of China. This indicates that China’s spring technology has stepped forward to the international level. The proposal of leaf spring needs further improvement and will be discussed later.
The British spring standard is mainly the design standard of cylindrical spiral compression, tension and torsion spring, which also includes the technical conditions of spring. These three standards are more detailed and clear for guiding spring design. It was adopted by the Standardization Committee of the European Community in 2001
BS EN 13906.1 design guide for cylindrical helical compression springs of circular cross section materials
BS EN 13906.2 design guide for cylindrical helical tension springs of circular cross section materials
BS EN 13906.3 design guide for cylindrical helical torsion springs of circular cross section materials
Japan, Germany, the United States, Britain and the former Soviet Union have formulated many spring standards. But it is not enough to measure the spring quality level of these countries only from the corresponding standards. The quality requirements of general spring are the main contents of these national standards. The important requirements of the company’s spring and drawing are often reflected in the high quality.
The formulation of Japanese standards is under the jurisdiction of Japan Industrial Technology Institute, which has a Standards Department. The formulation of spring standard is entrusted by the industrial technology institute to Japan Spring association to put forward the draft, and then the institute organizes a special committee for deliberation. The national standards are mainly for the varieties with large quantity and wide range, which are convenient for professional production, such as cylindrical spiral compression, tension, torsion spring, butterfly spring, torsion bar spring and plate spring. See table 1-7. The design calculation standard and technical condition standard should be paid equal attention.
